Participants: To optimise the benefit to each participant, numbers will be restricted to 14 people.

Aim: Managing Safely is a course for managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. The course lasts for 24 hours in total. Managing Safely can be delivered over four days and has eight modules.

Objectives
On completion of the course, candidates will be able to:

• To give managers an awareness of all they need to know to help them handle health and safety in their teams. The flexible new high impact programme covers all the main health and safety issues, and includes a session tackling the environment.

Content
The course will cover:

• Introducing Managing Safely
• Assessing risks
• Controlling risks
• Understanding your responsibilities
• Identifying hazards
• Investigating accidents and incidents
• Measuring performance
• Protecting our environment

Method: The emphasis throughout is on a practical approach with detailed presentations followed by individual exercises, group work and interactive discussions.

Certification: An IOSH Certificate is awarded to all those who attend the course and successfully complete the written and practical assessments

Other Information: In support of this award UFS can offer our own accredited and unique Managing Safely in the Fire & Security Sector award. Participants who successfully complete the award will receive an IOSH Managing Safely certificate and a unique Utilise Fire & Security Managing Safely in the Fire & Security Sector certificate.
